Farm N' Fun

Since 1981, Paul Kovac has hosted Farm N' Fun on the Kovac family's Villa Mir Farm in Chardon, Ohio. It's a party, a family picnic, and a private folk festival all in one. This was the first year we were able to attend and we had a wonderful time.

There were more than 200 people there in the evening and it seemed like half of them had instruments. At any one time there were at least two and sometimes as many as four or five impromptu groups playing under tents, among the trees, on the stage, and anywhere else several people had room to gather.

Paul describes Farm N' Fun as three parties--one that starts in the morning and runs until about dinner time, one that starts with the pot luck dinner and goes until the fireworks at about 11pm, and a third that starts with the midnight bonfire and goes until the wee hours. We arrived just before dinner made it as far as the bonfire before having to call it a night. It was worth the trip.
